Verona, Italy

The story of Romeo and Juliet takes place in Verona, Italy within the late 1500s. The city now is famous for love and romance because of Shakespeare's decision to make it the setting of his play. There are several monuments, museums and restaruants within Verona that are dedicated and associated with Romeo and Juliet. 

Mantua, Italy

A small portion of the drama is set in Mantua. Mantua is where Romeo is exiled to by the Prince for being involved in a fight to the death battle. Mantua is a dark and creepy place where convicts were banished to.
