
Friar Lawrence:
The Friar is Romeo's confidant and go-to-guy throughout the play. He also becomes someone that Juliet entrusts. He agrees to hold a secret wedding for Romeo and Juliet in hopes that it will bring an end to the family fued. The Friar's heart is in the right place, but he does not go about his plans in an honest manner, leading to much destruction.

The Prince:
The Prince of Verona is frustrated with the Montague and Capulet families. He enforces a law of execution when the family fighting gets too out of hand. The Prince provides structure and order in the chaotic storyline.

The County Paris:
Paris is a young man of wealth who actively pursues Juliet's hand in marriage. He is unaware that Juliet loves and married Romeo (just like everyone else...). He does no wrong in the play and is victim of the other character's poor decisions and actions.
